Day Hikes
Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge - Located in Wells take Rt 1 to Route 9. Trails through salt marsh.
Gilsland Farm - Maine Audubon - From Portland Take Rt 1 North across Presumpscot River. Maine Audubon Signs on Left. Trails along Presumpscot River Estruary, woods and meadows.
Scarborough Marsh Nature Center - Rt 1 to Pine Point Rd. Nature Center on left at Salt Marsh. Trails and Canoe trips.
Table Rock / Old Speck - Located in Grafton Notch State Park- 2 1/2 hours North of Portland. Follow Rt26 from Portland to North Newry. Picnic Spots such as Screw Auger Falls. Appalachian Trail access and several smaller hikes such as Old Speck,Table Rock ,Bald Pate
Douglas Mountain - Rt 107 in Baldwin to Douglass Hill. At top of hill look for Rd on Left. Hike up to tower. Scenic Views of Sebago and Western Mountains.
Mount Cutler - Rt 113 in Hiram. At Junction of 117 go left after bridge up dirt road to Rail Road Tracks. Follow Trail markers. Right Fork is a steep hike up to a scenic overlook. Left trail is hike through Pine Forest. Please stay on trails.
Bradbury Mountain State Park - Take Rt 9 in Falmouth to Pownal. State Park with Trails throughout pine forest of Bradbury Mountain.
Morse Mountain Preserve - Rt 1 North to Bath to Rt 209. Go straight on Rt 216 at turn to Popham Beach. A short way on the left is a small parking lot and gatehouse. About a 2 mile hike through a salt marsh and over Morse Mountain Scenic overlooks to Sewall Beach.
Josephine Newman Sanctuary - Rt 1 thru Bath across bridge into Woolich take Rt127 South to Georgetown. At Library take access Rd with small sign. 2 1/2 miles of trails through woodlands and along Robinhood Cove. Reversing Falls.
